Gabby Giffords Tucson Shooting: One Year Later (VIDEO)
It was one year ago on Jan. 8, 2011, when Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords was shot and wounded in a gunfire attack that killed six people and injured 12 others. One of the survivors, Ashleigh Burroughs, shot three times, spoke with genConnect’s Claudia Potamkin, where she recants her journey of recovery.
Ashleigh Burroughs was a special attendee at BlogHer ’11 in San Diego in August, where this interview took place. The 9-year old who lost her life that day was Christina Taylor Green. For more about Ashleigh, visit BlogHer.com.
Giffords, who was shot in the head, has moved a nation with her strength as she heals.
On Sunday, bells will ring over Tucson at 10:11 am, the time when the first shots roared last year.
