A retail, hospitality and entertainment destination for the season, the 2nd Annual Real Simple Holiday Pop-Up Shop in Bryant Park, presented by Citi, featured fantastic gift ideas, food tastings, shopping and fun giveaways for the whole family.

We got the low-down on the mission behind the Holiday Pop-Up Shop from two of its leading ladies:

“Our readers love our content so it’s really nice to engage them and have an opportunity to have face-to-face communication. So we love doing events like this,” said Tamara Stewart, Executive Director of Events for Real Simple and Time Inc.

“The holidays are the busiest time of year for our readers so this is a great chance for us to make it a little bit easier for them,” added Amanda Schumacher, Executive Director of Communications for Real Simple. “We’ll have editors throughout the course of the pop-up shop; they’ll be giving real simple tips for fashion, food, beauty, home, decorating, gift giving. It’s really a way to make the holidays easier for our consumers.”

We also asked what the holidays meant to them:

Tamara: “I love the holidays, I love spending them with my children. It just means cozy, warm, enjoyment and indulgence.”

Amanda: “It’s being with your family and friends and celebrating and I think that is what [the pop-up shop] is going to help people do.”
