Model-Triathlete Jenny Fletcher Balances Beauty With Sport

[ 0 ] April 16, 2014 |

Champion triathlete Jenny Fletcher transformed from a tomboy living on a family farm in Canada to a teenage supermodel traveling the world. “This whole feminine thing I didn’t really grasp until I started in modeling,” Fletcher says.

Fletcher, who earned her first triathlon victory at the 2012 IRONMAN 70.3 Branson, says she aims to balance her love of beauty with her love of sport. “It’s such a competitive and masculine world that my fight was to stay feminine,” she says.

Fletcher says the inward and outward strength she gains from training can harmonize with femininity.

“We all start looking pretty strong, which is a beautiful thing, but one of my goals was ‘got to do the nails, wear earrings, a little mascara,'” she says. “I think that’s the beauty of being a female and being able to be active — that power you feel from within. Beauty is always from within, but to keep a little bit on the outside as well.”
