Summer BBQ Wine Recommendations (VIDEO)
It’s barbecue season and while beer is largely the beverage of choice, the challenge comes in finding a wine to serve that not only beats the heat, but pairs well with typical barbecue fare, too. Watch below for wine connoisseur Mark Oldman’s red and white wine picks that will perfectly compliment your summer menu:
Mark Oldman is known as a wine “everyman,” taking the complex terms away and making wine conversations easy to understand. His first book, Oldman’s Guide to Outstanding Wine, was released in 2004.
White Wine Recommendation: Try a Torrontes from Argentina, Oldman suggests. “It smells a little sweet but it’s as dry as a bone so it has that great duality.”
Red Wine Recommendation: To compliment your barbequed meats, opt for a Carménère from Chile. Its berry fruits and smooth, full body will highlight the flavor of any food.
