Chat in Any Language, Anytime With New Translation Tool (VIDEO)
Looking to connect with a friend in Spain, France or even China? Now you can chat in any language, anytime, anywhere. Watch our interview with the President of global experiential language leader Ortsbo.com:
The language tool debuted with partner Variety at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas in early January 2012. We got a sneak peek of the technology from Ortsbo Inc. President Patrick Bultema at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah during a live Q&A with rock legend Gene Simmons and comic book icon Stan Lee.

“What actually happens during the event is we are still essentially using a stenographer who brings it into an English stream, it goes to our cloud environment where it is machine language translated into the 53 different languages and so everybody experiences it in their end langauge,” Patrick explained.
This new translation service has the power to transform global communication, which is exactly what Ortsbo.com hopes to do.
“One of the things we’ve recognized is as we’ve gone to the Internet-making communication, possible end points are ubiquitous, social networks are connecting us all, the barrier that still exists is language and we are taking that barrier off the table,” Bultema told genConnect. “In the entertainment industry so many companies realize their opportunities are to go global. But the rest of the world doesn’t want a second-class experience. They want a real-time experience where they get to experience the event in their language, real-time. And that’s what we do.”
