Susan Feniger is the queen of great street food, and now she’s giving you a chance to try your hand at some of her great culinary concoctions, as well.
Her latest book, Susan Feniger’s Street Food: Irresistibly Crispy, Creamy, Crunchy, Spicy, Sticky, Sweet Recipes, due out July 17, is based on cuisine at her restaurant, STREET, in the Hollywood area, but “it’s all global taste from around the world,” Feniger said. “It may be street food, it might be something that’s influenced from someone’s grandmother cooking in the middle of the mountains in Turkey, so it’s sort of influenced from everywhere, all around the globe,” she says of the recipes in her book.
What Feniger is most excited about is this is her first book that includes great photographs accompanying her recipes. Plus, the key to this book is making exotic dishes accessible for the everyman.
“Everything that can be done with specialty ingredients, can be done with just ingredients you can get at the grocery store,” Feniger said. “I think we’ve tried to make it so someone living in the middle of America can do this without a specialty store.”
