Legendary chef Emeril Lagasse has been “kicking it up a notch” on televisions and in kitchens across the country for over 20 years. What’s next for the king of the Emeril empire? Sandwiches!
Inspired by New Orleans dietary staple, the Po’ Boy, watch Emeril talk with genConnect’s Sissy Biggers about his 17th cookbook, Emeril’s Kicked-Up Sandwiches: Stacked with Flavor, scheduled for release this October 2012:
Fine-tuning your craft of sandwich-making is a no-brainer, according to Emeril, because wherever you eat out – everywhere from coffee shops to fine dining establishments – they all typically have some sort of sandwich menu.
“It’s sort of around the country, with all these great sandwiches sort of Emeril-ized,” he said of his book.
More than 100 recipes for sandwiches like Po’ Boys, Smoked Salmon on a Bagel with Mascarpone Spread, a classic Reuben, Grilled Peanut Butter, Banana and Honey, or Portuguese sausage, as well as sections on great condiments and homemade breads, are included.
“It’s a fun book,” Emeril said.
