Chef and restaurateur Tim Goodell was among those named “Best New Chef” by Food & Wine magazine in 2000 and, since then, his career has exploded. Watch Goodell explain what the Best New Chef award really means to every chef:
“It’s huge – this is where your career possibly can take off,” said Goodell, who currently runs Public Kitchen & Bar at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel in Califorina with his wife, Liza.
The one piece of advice he has for this year’s crop of Best New Chefs? “Be very careful and be very specific about what your future plans are,” he said. “Be very selective because there’s a lot of things that come your way after this award.”
