Moore served as a paratrooper and Captain in the US Army from 2005-2006 with the 1st Brigade of the 82nd Airborne Division. Moore is an expert in the rise of radical Islamism in the Western Hemisphere. He was a White House Fellow from 2006-2007 and a Special Assistant to Secretary of State Condolezza Rice. After that, Moore worked as an investment professional with Citigroup. In 2007, Moore was named one of Ebony magazine’s “Top 30 Leaders Under 30” and in 2009 he was selected as an Asia Society Fellow and named as one of Crain’s New York Business’ “40 Under 40 Rising Stars.” Moore is on the board of Iraq Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA) and founded STAND!, which works with Baltimore youths in the criminal justice system. Moore’s new book, The Other Wes Moore: One Name, Two Fates, is about the conflicting roads that he and another boy of the same name took in life.
