Rye Barcott is the Co-Founder of Carolina for Kibera, an organization aimed at empowering youths and stopping violence. Barcott served in the U.S. Marine Corps for five years in Africa, Bosnia and the Horn of Africa. After his service, Barcott earned master’s degrees in business and public administration from Harvard University. He was named a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader and currently works at Duke Energy. Barcott is the author of It Happened On the Way to War: A Marine’s Path to Peace about the founding of Carolina for Kibera.
