John Seely Brown is currently a visiting scholar and advisor to the Provost at the University of Southern California and the Independent Co-Chairman of the Deloitte Center for the Edge. Previously, Brown served as the chief scientist of Xerox Corporation for almost two decades. He is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and the National Academy of Education, as well as a fellow of the American Association for Artificial IntelligenceAAAS, and a Trustee of the MacArthur Foundation. Brown has written over 100 scientific papers and has co-authored two books: The Social Life of Information and The Only Sustainable Edge: Why Business Strategy Depends On Productive Friction And Dynamic Specialization. Brown conducts research on “management of radical innovation, digital youth culture, digital media and new forms of communication and learning.
