    I am a big fan of girl singers, past: Ella, Sarah, Nina, Dinah, Carmen, and present: Barbra, Dianne, Cassandra, Diana, Nancy, Natalie, and especially Patti. Patti exemplifies the caliber of performer who is not only a successful, disciplined musician, but is also dedicated to creating a legacy of wonderful music. She has a deep and broad understanding of the industry, based on years of lessons learned, and is willing to share her remarkable knowledge. So, I was cheered to hear that Patti is among those judging the BET sponsored jazz singing competition. Surely, America's Got Talent and American Idol shouldn't be the only arbiters of what's considered "singing talent".
