ABC’s Sam Champion: Add This Organization to Your Holiday Gift List (VIDEO)

ABC News’ and “Good Morning America” weather anchor Sam Champion encourages people to give a new kind of present this holiday…

Charity is a gift that keeps on giving. That is why Sam Champion, and other TV personalities, opt for donating to charity instead of buying gifts. DonorsChoose.org, a peer-to-peer philanthropic network that connects people to classrooms in need, is one of Sam’s favorites.

“If I could tell anyone to add an organization to their list of giving this year, it would be that one,” Champion said. “Schools are often one of the first places where we unfairly see cuts. So all of the programs you love in a school you love, you can target what you’re giving to that area if you’ll just go online you can choose exactly what you want to do and how much money you want to give.”

Real Simple magazine and DonorsChoose.org teamed up to double your charitable giving. Visit DonorsChoose.org/realsimple, enter promo code REALSIMPLE and Real Simple will match what you choose to give. There is a $500 matching cap per donor.
