Interview With Tina Brown: From Print Girl to Online Journalist (VIDEOS)

Since 2008, when Tina Brown went from print to pixel as editor-in-chief of The Daily Beast, she’s been captivated by the ever-evolving Internet. Her impressive resume in publishing includes authoring the 2007 New York Times best-seller The Diana Chronicles, as well as the former editor of Tatler, Vanity Fair, The New Yorker and Talk magazines. A woman — who one can fairly say has her grip on what sells on paper — took the leap to online journalism with the persuasion of Barry Diller. At first a bit skeptic, Brown says she’s been enjoying the world wide web  more than she initially anticipated.

In an exclusive interview with Brown at the Aspen Ideas Festival, she shares on genConnect.com what she enjoys most about her website and the advantages of online with disseminating information.

Click the play button below to watch the  interview, and here’s an excerpt:

“What I love about it … you can get really good people to give you their stuff very quickly. We have people [writing for The Daily Beast] like Bruce Riedel, who is the brilliant scholar on Mid East and Far East, who advices Obama on AFPAK [Afghanistan-Pakistan] … people like Mark McKinnon … Benazir Bhutto writing about Pakistan. It’s amazing the character of writers you can assemble, and whom then will simply stop what they’re doing and write you their 600 words, or whatever, that just gives you a very smart take.”
