Tyra Banks is best known for her modeling career and striking looks, but did you know she is also a recent Harvard graduate? Watch this author, businesswoman, producer and television host discuss education and how women around the world can become fierce:
As an outspoken advocate for women’s issues and positive self-esteem, Tyra says there is no timestamp in life to fulfilling your dreams.
“I don’t think it’s ever too late to go back to school,” Tyra told genConnect’s Vicki Salemi on the red carpet at the 2012 Matrix Awards. “I think some people want to go to school just for the sake of learning, not necessarily even to apply it to something, but just being in a scholastic type atmosphere is actually very enriching.”
In Tyra’s hit reality show “America’s Next Top Model“, she coined the phrase, “You wanna be on top?” Naturally we asked this veteran supermodel how other women can be fierce, reach the top and rock it out:
“I say to run toward the fear instead of running away from it,” Tyra said. “If it makes you nervous, if you’re scared, that means there’s change and there’s something different. That’s innovation, so run toward that and that’s how you can make a true impact and be fierce.”
