“Discovery at the speed of knowledge is all about the transformation taking place with open innovation,” explains Schukai.

GLORIAD_2013Looking ahead in terms of innovation, Schukai first assumes that everyone is going to have access to the Internet in the very near future. “Just think of the amazing things that we are going to be able to do with a connected planet,” he says.

The access to information will change the way the world thinks and learns. With unlimited amount of data and knowledge becoming so accessible, there is no question that the world is going to become tremendously more innovative than it is currently.

This innovation can open a lot of doors. For example, gene mapping is an evolving concept that Schukai believes will be widely implemented in the near future; utilizing current technology, creating a gene map has become remarkably cheaper and will only continue to decrease in price. Additionally, the idea of having a DNA map can vastly help improve health care.

Schukai says: “It’ll be just the thing we do when every child is born.”
