About Priya Agrawal

Priya Agrawal

Priya Agrawal is a British obstetrician and gynecologist who specializes in using innovation and research to improve health care for women. She is an obstetric fellow of the Dean’s Special Initiative on Women and Health at the Harvard School of Public Health.

She has just completed work with Atul Gawande as the obstetric lead on the World Health Organization’s Safe Childbirth Checklist Program. Additionally, Agrawal is a senior advisor for WHO’s Mother/Baby 7-day mCheck patient safety program and chief medical advisor to Jacaranda Health, a social enterprise dedicated to providing high-quality care and testing global innovations for safe motherhood in Kenya.

From 2009 to 2010, she was seconded as a Clinical Advisor to the Medical Director at the National Patient Safety Agency. Agrawal has worked and taught in Malawi, Kenya, Tanzania, Malaysian Borneo, India and Thailand.
