Michael B. Oren is the Abba Eban Chair of International Diplomacy at the Interdisciplinary Center, Herzliya Lauder School of Government, Diplomacy, and Strategy and ambassador in residence at the Atlantic Council. Oren served as Israel’s ambassador to the United States from 2009 to 2013. In Israel, he served as an officer in the Israel Defense Forces, an advisor to Israel’s delegation to the UN, and the government’s director of inter-religious affairs. The Forward named him one of the five most influential Jews in America, and the Jerusalem Post listed him as one of the ten most influential Jews worldwide.
