Jose Luis Prado on how Quaker is innovating to provide nourishing solutions to the world
Jose Luis Prado is president, Quaker Foods and Snacks North America of PepsiCo. In its global portfolio of food and beverage brands, PepsiCo has 22 different brands that generate more than $1 billion each in annual retail sales. With net revenues of over $65 billion, PepsiCo’s main businesses also make hundreds of other enjoyable foods and beverages that are respected household names throughout the world.
Prado assumed this role in January 2011, and is responsible for the continued growth of Quaker-branded products globally. He also leads PepsiCo's global Baking Center of Excellence, which develops and supports baked projects companywide.
Prado joined PepsiCo in 1984 at Sabritas, and has served in a variety of positions, including president, Frito-Lay Snacks Caribbean; president, PepsiCo Snacks Argentina/Uruguay; area vice president, Frito-Lay International (FLI); and most recently as president, Gamesa-Quaker Mexico. In this role, Prado oversaw over $1 billion in sales and 15,000 employees. In addition, he led the integration of Quaker into FLI in Latin America as a result of PepsiCo's merger with the Quaker Oats Company. Prado also launched "Vive Saludable," a program that promotes healthy lifestyles for consumers and employees, in Mexico and throughout Latin America.
Before joining PepsiCo, Prado worked for Grupo Desc in Mexico, a subsidiary of Monsanto.
