Gideon Stein is a partner with Argyle Holdings LLC, a real estate development company in Northern Manhattan. In addition to his work in real estate, Stein is an accomplished entrepreneur, having launched both a software company and a private investment firm.
Stein is the co-founder and President of Future Is Now Schools, a national non-profit focused on building sustainable school models, and is chairman of the board of Harlem Success Academy 5. He also serves on the boards of Success Academy 8, Success Charter Network and the Moriah Fund, a private foundation. Stein is also the Chairman of the Board of New York City Common Communities and the Tapestry Project, the latter of which seeks to create charter schools that reflect the best of New York City.
Previously, Gideon was the Chairman and CEO of Omnipod, Inc., an enterprise software firm that was sold in 2005 to MessageLabs, a global software-as-service firm that is now a division of Symantec. Before Omnipod/MessageLabs, Gideon founded several start-up companies including a consumer magazine that was sold to E! Entertainment Television and Interpublic Group of Companies.
