About Betsey Armstrong

Betsey Armstrong

Elizabeth ("Betsey") Armstrong is a female water polo goalkeeper from the United States, who won the gold medal with the United States women's national water polo team at the 2007 Pan American Games. She recorded 28 saves in helping Team USA to a Gold Medal and Olympic qualification at the 2011 Pan American Games.

She made her debut for the national team in 2006. She attended Huron High School in Ann Arbor.

At the 2008 China Summer Olympic games, she and the American team lost 8-9 in the championship game to the Netherlands and took home the silver medal. In June 2009, Armstrong was named to the USA water polo women's senior national team for the 2009 FINA World Championships.

She was named the best female water polo player for 2010 by FINA Aquatics World Magazine.
