From former Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf, to Obama strategist David Axelrod, to former Rep. Jane Harman, to Twitter Co-Founders Biz Stone and Evan Williams, to Biggest Loser trainer Bob Harper, to CNBC anchor Maria Bartiromo and NBC anchor Andrea Mitchell, we have always sought out the best and brightest minds at this event, to share their knowledge with the masses. We look forward to being able to do this once again this year.”

Running from June 26 to July 2, the 2013 Aspen Ideas Festival featured presentations by many individuals helping to shape their fields – and the world – including:

  • Supreme Court Justices Stephen Breyer and Elena Kagan
  • Yo- Yo Ma, Cellist and the Aspen Institute’s 2013 Harman-Eisner Artist in Residence

  • And many more.

“The conversations and presentations offered at the Aspen Ideas Festival will underscore some of the most critical ilemmas and challenges we face today,” said Kitty Boone, Aspen Institute vice president and director of the Aspen Ideas Festival. “So many of those coming are the thinkers and leaders, whose vision and expertise are taking us into the future in such a positive and constructive way.”

Beyond intellectual conversations, the festival screened seven award-winning and truly captivating films, ranging from education and military to ballroom dancing and eternal love.  The world premiere of the film About Time was screened at the festival, taking viewers and guests into the life of Tim Lake (Domhnall Gleeson), who discovers time travel and love with Mary (Rachel McAdams). About Time is scheduled for release in theaters in September 2013.
