Congresswoman Jane Harman’s Message to Younger Generations (VIDEO)

Rep. Jane Harman (D-CA) in the 36th congressional district shared with genConnect her message to younger generations. “Dream big dreams,” said Harman during her interview with us at the Aspen Ideas Festival. The eighth-term congressman added, “Nothing happens automatically. It doesn’t matter how much money you have. You have to go after what you want. And if you dream too small, you will not be a happy person.”

Harman at an early age had political aspirations. At age 15, while a student at the Los Angeles public school system, she attended the democratic convention of 1960. She witnessed the nomination of John F. Kennedy for president and met Eleanor Roosevelt. At that moment, her “personal light bulb went off.”  Watch the clip below for Harman’s inspirational advice and story:
